Enabling Wales to Go Superfast
The Welsh Government’s Access Broadband Cymru Scheme means that all homes and businesses across Wales, that cannot currently receive superfast connections, are now eligible to apply for support.
A 12,000 sq.ft research facility located on the Hirwaun industrial estate in South Wales required a supplier on the Access Broadband Cymru scheme to dramatically improve their internet connection. The facility had a download speed of only 2Mbps. A superfast internet connection of over 30Mbps was required throughout the premises.
The research company wanted a supplier that was listed on the Access Broadband Cymru scheme, which meant they were able to receive an £800 grant to cover the following costs:
– Set up & survey
– Installation fees
Due to the remote nature of the business, fibre and a leased line were not suitable options. However SimRush would provide a business class solution with superfast speeds at an affordable price point. Installation could be carried out in a matter of days too.
Although the estate generally struggles to receive a discernible mobile signal, after completing a desktop survey it was determined that the Hirwaun industrial estate could receive a superfast 4G LTE connection and SimRush would be perfect for their needs.
As SimRush is specifically designed for complex business needs, a SimRush One model was recommended. This would give the research facility connectivity throughout the premises and also act as a controller for the WiFi.
With an EE 4G data SIM obtained through the FreeClix store, the monthly data SIM deal was at a fantastic price point and on a 24 month contract. SimRush installation was completed in just a few hours, which meant minimal interference with the company’s research.
“After having spent several weeks trying to find an affordable broadband solution for a site being offered only 2Mbps via traditional cabled services, Freeclix offered the SimRush product which now gives me over 30Mbps at a very affordable price point.”
